OUR LITTLE COMPANY, YOUR PRIVACY

Just a friendly update.

tmrCEO is a project by Kaylie and Gideon. If you choose to join our newsletter, we save your email address, the words you agreed to, and the time you signed up. We use that information to send occasional updates about our games and projects. We don’t sell or share the subscriber list.

Your game scores

Snake’s device best and your chosen gamer nickname are saved in this browser. You can play without sharing a name. If you choose “Save,” your nickname, qualifying round scores and their game/score times may appear on the public top-ten board and its details view. Your name can appear more than once. Use a nickname rather than private information. A random guest cookie identifies this browser for up to a year; the database stores its hash, your nickname, personal best and submitted round scores with their achievement times. Change name in the game to update your public nickname. Different browsers count as separate guest players. If you choose Google sign-in, we verify your Google ID token and save Google’s unique account identifier to recognize your account. We do not save your Google name or ID token. When Google supplies a verified email address at sign-in, we save it privately with your account and game logs. Your email is never shown on the leaderboard. Your chosen gamer nickname and best score follow your account across browsers; signing in combines this browser’s guest progress with your account, keeping all submitted rounds and the better personal best. Your existing account nickname takes priority. A secure, HttpOnly session cookie keeps you signed in for up to seven days. Log out to end this browser’s session and return to guest play. Google provides the sign-in interface under its own privacy policy. Clearing browser data removes this device’s remembered name and access to its previous guest record. Game seeds and move submissions are used to check scores; temporary game verification records expire after two hours and are cleared when new games start. Game logs retain your chosen gamer name, verified email when available, the Unix epoch play-start time and the checked score. An unfinished round has no final score. Guest emails and unavailable historical start times remain empty. Recorded play counts and player counts are public totals; players are signed-in accounts or guest browsers, not a verified count of people. Submitted round scores remain in the high-score history.

Curiosity points

Each question allows one answer, whether correct or incorrect. We store your first selected answer, its result and the answer time. A random guest cookie identifies this browser for up to a year; the database stores its hash. Guest answers stay locked after reloading. Clearing cookies or changing browsers creates a different guest identity. Signing in carries this browser’s attempts into your account where no account answer already exists; a wrong guest answer cannot be retried just by signing in. Correct answers earn 10 curiosity points once per account per question, including correct guest answers carried into the account. Points and individual answers are private. They are separate from Snake scores. Contact us to request removal.

Newsletter preferences

Signing up is optional and separate from playing. We keep your email until you unsubscribe. When you unsubscribe, your address is deleted from our newsletter database. Future newsletters will include your private unsubscribe link.

After signup, we also save a private unsubscribe link in this browser so you can manage your subscription here. Keep that link private.

Discoveries you share

If you send a discovery, we save your chosen name or nickname, headline, text, source link, submission time and permission to review it. You can leave the name blank. Suggestions are stored privately for editorial review and do not publish automatically. If selected, we may publish the discovery with the name you supplied. Please don’t include personal details or other people’s private information.

Books you like

Book likes are shared as public totals. A random browser cookie remembers which books you liked for up to 180 days; the database stores a hash of that random value alongside your choices. We don’t ask for a name or email to like a book. Tap a liked book again to remove your like. Clearing cookies resets this browser’s ability to manage previous likes.

Joining the team

If you express interest in a role, we save the first name or nickname, chosen role, parent or guardian contact email, idea, submission time and permission for private team review. This does not subscribe you to the newsletter or automatically give you a role. Please ask a parent or guardian to help and avoid including school names, addresses or other private information.

Questions and privacy requests

A parent or guardian can contact the tmrCEO project team at gideon@gmail.com about privacy, corrections or removal of shared information. Please include only what is needed to identify the request. You can also read our Terms of Use.

Basic site operation

The server may keep ordinary access logs. To limit signup spam, we keep a hash of the network address for up to one hour. We do not use advertising trackers. The site uses browser storage for your best score and your private unsubscribe link, plus functional cookies for book likes, guest game scores and optional Google sign-in. Sign-in uses a short-lived browser challenge to protect the login process. Contact us to request removal of your account and associated information.
